The man who had the building built was very superstitious and had the 'ugly faces' added to scare off unwanted spirits.
After the horrible flood in the 1920s which was the cause for many of the restorations to the river and the reason for the flood gates this tree began to grow out of the wall of this building.

I LOVE the building with the faces, it looks just like my photo from the river boat! We have some of the same photos-too funny? Did yall do the RainForest Cafe??? One of our favorites!
